This webring has been started to help get the word out about on-line harassment and stalking. The message needs to be spread far and wide that this is being done to innocent people.

It's against the law!

The following is a quote from "Staying Safe in Cyberspace":

"Harassment/cyber-stalking is a methodical, deliberate and persistent communication that disturbs or frightens the victim. Most laws state that harassment that continues after you have requested it stop and that the perpetrator not contact you again, is considered to be stalking. Prison terms can range from three years with a $10,000 fine (the sentence in Illinois) to a maximum of 10 years (the sentence in Massachusetts). Your local law enforcement agency can provide information regarding anti-stalking laws in your state. According to the laws of Michigan, stalking is defined as: …a 'willful course of conduct' involving repeated or continuing harassment of another individual that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, 'harassed' or molested and that actually causes the victim to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, harassed or molested."

If you feel you're being stalked or harassed you have an obligation to report the person(s) who are doing this to you to the proper authorities and their Internet provider.

Join the "STOP! On-Line Harassment" web ring and help spread the word.

"Ode to You Know Who"

The day in the life of a stalker
Bouncing from site to site
Looking for clues of deception
And misuse of her copyright

A graphic artist she claims to be
But the proof has yet to be seen
Making backgrounds of incredible size
Using tubes downloaded for free

She preys on the innocent victim
Like a spider weaving a web
Recruiting the help of her cohorts
Spreading her gloom and dread

When confronted with rebuttal
She instantly uses CC
Forwarding all the mail
To hers and your IP

Ah, the life of a stalker
What a miserable human being
A straight jacket's much too gentle
From what we all have seen

Step One

Fill out the below form to register your site

Note that this does not insert you in the ring; it simply makes your page known to Webmistress and gives you a Site ID Number.

Please note * If your site is in the queue longer than 15 days it will be deleted.

So add your html and graphics fast and email me to let me know.

We are doing this because our queue will get way to long with people adding their site and never adding the ring html.

Submit your site to the Queue:

Your Name:

Your Webring Title:

Your Webring URL:

Your E-mail:

Choose A Password:

What's Your Webring About?

Step Two

Download the graphics below:

right-click or click and hold the mouse button to get a pop-up menu and save them. Please "DO NOT " reference the graphics off someone else's server!

Step Three

Download the html code here or you can wait for the standard code in your e-mail.

Notes:

Be sure to:

1. Change the mailing address to your own

2. Change the owner name to your own

3. Change the site id to your own

(When you add yourself to the queue, you'll receive your site number.) =

If you put the code on a page with frames, please remember to add target="_top" to all your references, in order to remove the frames before the viewer proceeds.

Step Four

E-mail the Ring Mistress

Include in the body of the email:

1. your Site ID Number

2. the name of your site

3. your web page URL address

4. your email address (If three-mail bounces when we write you, you will be removed from the queue.)

5. Why your site should be added to "STOP! On-Line Harassment" Web Ring.

The Webmistress will look at your page to make sure it is appropriate and that the fragment has been added correctly.

**PLEASE e-mail us when your coding is up along with the EXACT url of the page you've put your fragment on. If you do not e-mail us, you will be removed from the queue, as there are so many people submitting their sites, we just don't have enough time to surf every page on your website looking for the fragment. Thanks. We really appreciate it :)

After checking out your page, the Ring Mistress will take your Site ID Number and use it to add you to the ring. An automated server will then e-mail you telling you you've been added.
