Ike Hornsby ll, owner and president of Pools By Ike, began in the pool industry back in 1960, working for major local pool builders and learning his craft on hundreds of residential and commercial pool projects. With inspiration from his father, Ike Sr., and a drive to be an entrepreneur, Ike began his fledgling company. Building five pools in his first season in 1974 and steadily increasing the volume of the business to the present one hundred plus pools per season, Ike has gone from a one-man operation, to construction crews and support personnel numbering as many as thirty-five. Pools By Ike is now the largest pool builder in the Southern San Joaquin Valley - that's out of twenty-three other builders in the Bakersfield area alone. This success can be summed up with an idea that became more than a slogan, "We care enough to build it better!".
